  • Words cannot express our sadness and we are thinking and praying for you all. Tammy and I are desperately trying to smile when we think of our Jett. Love to you all.

  • I remember having Jett to the house to fix him French Toast for breakfast. My recipe was nothing special, but Jett made me feel like it was the best French Toast he had ever had. That is the kind of person he was. Jett was handsome, kind, and fun. He had a smile that lit up the room. I wasn’t as close to him as my brother or sister-in-law (Alan and Tammy Collins), but I felt like I was because Jett made me feel that way. Heaven has gained an angel; God Bless his soul, and please bring some comfort and peace to his family.

  • Jett was one of the kindest souls I ever met. He had a way of making everyone around him feel loved. He was kind, caring, giving, and loved by many. My aunt, uncle, and their daughter spent more time with him than I did, but I know he was so loved by them and everyone else in our family. I pray for his family and that some peace can be brought to them during this time. As my mom said, heaven gained an angel. This world will miss you Jett!

  • While I didn’t know Jett it’s obvious he was a gifted and fine young man who touched a lot of lives in his short life. RIP. Prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

I know how blessed I was to be a part of this young man’s life, and extremely grateful for the time we shared. He certainly impacted my life and those who knew him. Jett played baseball here for a total of three summers and gave everything he had, not only to the game, but to the Kings’ community as well. Always a smile on his face! Thank you Jett, your love and our memories will always be cherished.

  • Todd,Sondra and girls;
We can not find the words to help the ache we know you feel to your very core now; the loss is too deep and unnatural. I can say that we really enjoyed Jetts ornery purely joyful personality as we watched him grow up and through the stories our kids would share about him through the years. He is already greatly missed.

  • Todd, Sondra, and family:

I’m so sorry for your loss. You have my deepest sympathy.

I was blessed with having Jett on the very first team I ever coached when I came to Highland. He made my job easy because my best player was a GREAT teammate. He was a pleasure to coach. I began helping the high school staff Jett’s junior year. It was special and that group was special.
He was so much fun to be around, and he really did draw people to him. Whenever I ran into him recently, he was still the same awesome kid I had the pleasure of coaching in 8th grade.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

    Brett Behnfeldt

  • I never got to know Jett very well when I came into the Swetland Family. Jett was
either in college or playing baseball some where. The only time we got to talk was
when his grandmother Esther and I took him to dinner while we were in Florida
a couple years ago. I learned from that dinner I only wished I had a son like him.
I am very sorry for the loss of Jett. He will be missed dearly.

    Richard Sears Jr. and Family

I didn’t know Jett personally, but saw him occasionally down the street where his girlfriend stayed. Me being a farmer and parent, I can relate to how close a son is. I have 3 and two farm with me. One of my sons, Jonathan, worked the accident as a volunteer firefighter. He was touched deeply by what happened. Our family prayed for Jett and the others and we prayed for you too. I wanted you to know our community mourned too. God give you strength.

  • While Jett was only here on Earth for a short time, he made a huge impact on the people who were blessed to have known him. Jett and Ryan met as competitors on opposing teams at a young age on the baseball field and basketball court and developed a friendship that turned into a brotherhood. As a parent, Jett was a kid you wanted your child to be around. Always respectful, kind, and wore an infectious smile. Thank you Jett! You will be missed and never forgotten! Rest easy! May God lay his healing hands upon you all during this difficult time and bring you strength, peace, and comfort.

  • So sorry for your loss I didn’t know jett personally but watched him play basketball. Rob talked very highly of him. Loved playing ball with him on the court. I know that he was a wonderful mentor to so many of the athletes he played with (Max very much included). Jett included the younger guys and treated them with respect. Our thoughts and love are with you all.

  • My heartbreaks for your family. I had the pleasure of being having Jett in a couple of my Social Studies Classes at Highland. He was a pleasure to have in class and I think I still have a video project that he did for Government. I enjoyed watching him play basketball this winter during the staff vs student game during homecoming week and being able to catch up with him and seeing how excited he was to help the Highland Baseball team this year. I will keep your family in my prayers during this time.

  • My deepest sympathies to the entire family and all those who knew and loved Jett. What a great kid taken way too soon. As I read through everybody’s remarks, it’s quite clear what a special person Jett was. I had the privilege of knowing him mostly on the basketball court the past 8 years or so and was amazed time and time again by his talent. I’ll never forget this young man!

  • As I try to write words of condolence for your family, I realize I have none that can even begin to ease the sorrow felt by all of you. Words I want to say echo those offered by everyone else. Jett was such a wonderful kid. I knew him as one of my 5th grade kiddos who I was so fortunate to know and love. He always had a huge smile and always offered a positive, or sometimes silly, comment to lighten up any situation. He was a joy to have in my classroom and I will always remember him with a smile of my own. The last time I saw him, he yelled my name and ran over to give me a huge hug. It made my day! He always had a way to make everyone he saw feel special with that beautiful smile of his. Remember his beautiful spirit and know what a wonderful young man you raised whose gift was to bring joy to all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

  • Jett was my favorite of my son’s friends. He was so sweet, kind, funny and genuine. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. He has been on my mind every day. You raised a great young man.

  • Todd & Sondra ,I Didn’t know Jett ,But he went to school with my grandson Justice Adams. You all are in my thought’s & Prays. It is hard to lose a child,so i really know what you are going thru.

  • We never met, nor did I know Jett. I am an online student at UMO and saw the email updating the UMO family of the tragic loss of the lives of the students in the March 13 wreck. I am a mother and my heart breaks for his parents, family and all the families that have lost loved ones. What an amazing young man he was from reading his story. Words will not take away your pain. May God carry each of you during your time of grief and sorrow but rejoice in knowing he is in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
    God Bless Each of You.

  • It’s still hard to believe that Jett is no longer with us. I wanted to share our special time we had with Jett during the summer of 2018, when he played for Ozark Generals MINK League. We would travel to see Jett play baseball in Joplin and Springfield, MO. He was always very appreciative to see Uncle Tracy and myself attend his games with time to talk after each game with hugs, a big smile and to walk with you out of the stadium to the parking lot at night too. We loved to cheer for Jett, and we were not alone, the Newkirk host family was also there cheering for Jett too. Jett always made time for you in his life, and made sure you knew it too, most recently with a text “Happy Birthday Aunt Donna!! Love ya, Jett”

  • Dear Swetland family, Jett was an amazing young man! You were blessed to have had him. Thankful for raising such a wonderful and kind young man and for allowing him to share in all our lives. • Laurie and I are deeply saddened by the loss to your family. We watched Jett play basketball all four years at Highland. He was a special athlete. We didn’t get a chance to know him much, but we know Todd. Todd was my neighbor down the road from our house. We knew Jett was a good young man. He had many friends and family members who loved him very much. That’s all the evidence anyone needed to see how special he was to everyone around him, Our hearts go out to the entire family. Stay strong in the Lord. For He is your Rock in this difficult time. The Orecchio family.
