Jesse Russell Moore, 66, of 501 Virgil St., Galion, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at home after an extended illness.

Born November 4, 1938 in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., he was the son of the late John Moore and Ruth Throckmorton Moore. He married Margie A. Council Moore on December 16, 2000 and she survives.

He is a member of VFW Post 4329 and the Owls Club both in Galion. He was employed at Bi-State Ford in Toledo for many years where he was a diesel mechanic. He retired in 1999 and moved to Galion.

Surviving are his three daughters and sons-in-law, Jesse Lynn and Dean Joyner of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Kathy and Ronnie Pruitt of Buffalo Junction, Va. and Penny and James Griffin of Toledo, three stepsons and a step daughter-in-law, Howard Harsh of Galion,
Lester Harsh of Galion and Terry and Diana Harsh of Galion; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Harry Gene Moore of North Carolina, Marion Moore of North Carolina, William Mason Moore of Virginia and two sisters, Elizabeth Morris of Virginia and Mattie Taylor of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Rook.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005 at Hockaday Funeral Home, 507 Highway 158, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
