Jerry L. Gale, age 71 of Delaware died Friday, August 29, 2014 at Kobacker House with his family by his side following a short illness.

Born on December 5, 1942 in Centerburg, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Mary F. (Stockdale) Gale. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam aboard the USS Worden.

He moved to Delaware in1966 following his marriage to Lula (Staub). Jerry worked at Delo Screw for 44 years to care for the needs of his family. A hard worker, he was loyal and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

A simple man, he collected sports cards, enjoyed a good night’s sleep and a good cold dish of ice cream. He treasured his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Lula, children Tammy Gale, Becky (Eric) Davis both of Delaware, Kenny Gale of Cardington, Chrissy (Anthony) Kunce of Ashley, grandchildren Free and Drake Kunce, and sister Karen (Eldon) Askins.

He was also preceded in death by his brother William.

Friends may call Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr., Delaware where services will follow 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
