Jerry L. Shaw, age 65, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Knox Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on February 27, 1954 in Mount Vernon, Ohio the son of Guy and Rebecca (Smith) Shaw.  Jerry previously worked at Coca-Cola before retiring from Owens Corning in Newark.

Jerry loved riding his Harley-Davidson and was an avid stock car racing fan, spending many nights at the Wayne County stock car race track.  He and his wife Mary enjoyed traveling and attending different flea markets in the area.  Jerry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Mary (Shepard) Shaw; his children, Michelle Shaw, Jason Shaw, Jerad Shaw and Jerry “Bub” (Heather Walters) Shaw all of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren; two brothers, Jeff Shaw and John (Melissa) Shaw both of Mount Vernon.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Shaw and Jack Shaw, a sister, JoAnn Shaw.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a funeral service will begin at 1 p.m.  Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
