Jerry L. Lowe, 66, of Ostrander passed away Thursday afternoon January 18, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 7, 1951 in Delaware to Robert G. Lowe and Esther Ernestine (Swartz) Lowe and later graduated from Buckeye Valley High School. He then proudly served his country as a member of The Seebees in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

A mason by trade, Jerry enjoyed farming for the past 25 years. He was baptized in the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Ostrander and he enjoyed finding arrowheads and watching sports.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 43 years, Beverly (Bills); daughter, Jamie (Mark) Praetzel of Galena; son, Jacob (Sarah) Lowe of Ostrander; mother, Ernestine Lowe of Ostrander; grandchildren, Isaiah and Emily Lowe and Tyler and Mason Praetzel; brother, Glenn (Debbie) Lowe of Ostrander; sister, Charlotte (Reggie) Piatt of Delaware; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, brother Robert E. Lowe, sister Karen Easterday and his niece Jessica Lowe.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date in Newhouse Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Delaware County Veterans Association.

Contributions in Jerry’s memory may be made to any local Veteran’s organizations.
