Jerry J. Dolce
November 06, 1949 ‒ June 05, 2011
MANSFIELD: Jerry J. Dolce of North Main Street, Mansfield, passed away Sunday morning June 5, 2011 in his home. He was 61.
Born November 6, 1949 in Mansfield, the second child to Frank R. & Margaret (Hoffman) Dolce, and was graduated from Highlands High School in North Highlands, Calif.
Jerry worked as a jet engine mechanic on McClellan Air Force Base in California and moved back to Mansfield in the mid 1990s.
Jerry found great satisfaction in life’s simple pleasures – sharing a meal with his family and playing with the younger children afterward. Jerry was so loved by his nieces and nephews because he never lost the ability to relate to children at their level and they could ‘feel’ this in his interactions with them. He played with them and taught them things that only a favored uncle could and he knew how to make them feel special each in their own way.
Jerry also enjoyed gathering with family in the kitchen and helping out during the canning season. He was quick to regularly help out an uncle that was no longer able to do simple household repairs or cut and stack firewood on his own. Jerry led a simplified life years before it was ‘green’ or popular and left many wonderful and heart-felt memories with those whose lives he touched over the course of his lifetime.
He is survived by his mother Margaret Dolce of Rocklin, Calif.; sisters and brother Marie Dolce of Jacksonville, Fla., Cindy Hallman of Lexington, Tom & Deb Dolce of Carmichael, Calif., Lori & Dan Clark of Rocklin, Calif., and Julie & Dr. Terry Bartholomew of Lexington; nieces and nephews Melissa & Wess Jones, Jared Hallman, Crystal Markley, David Markley, Jason & Pam Markley, Aaron Dolce, Noah Dolce, Caleb Dolce, Ashley Clark, Bethany Clark, Austin Bartholomew, Lauren Bartholomew, Evan Bartholomew and Morgan Bartholomew; great nieces and great nephews Alex, Scott, Tori and Noah Jones and Madelynn.
His father preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 3 p.m. In the chapel of Ontario Christian Fellowship, 636 South Lexington Springmill Road, with Pastor Kim Maurer officiating. Interment will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
