Jerry Edward Foulk

Jerry Foulk, age 82, of Delaware, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his residence with his wife by his side. He was born August 13, 1930, in Westerville, to the late Charles and Erma (Lebeau) Foulk.
Jerry worked for the State of Ohio, Department of Rehabilitation and Correction for 32 years. He began his career as a guard at the Ohio Penitentiary before transferring to Lebanon Correctional Institution as training officer. He went on to work at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility as Deputy of Custody prior to working at the Correctional Medical Facility as Deputy of Custody. Jerry finished his career as Superintendent for the City of Columbus men’s and women’s workhouses, retiring September 1, 1981.
Jerry had a love for horses, horse training and driving, which he has done for over 40 years. He owned standardbred race horses since 1965, most notably Super Bandit, Super Stormy, and CJ’s Super Secret.
Jerry served in the U. S. Army in Germany for two years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Westerville; Ohio State Grange; Aladdin Shrine; Sunrise Masonic Lodge No. 783 F & AM; VFW; U.S. T.A.; and the Ohio Harness Horseman’s Association.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Connie (Armstrong) Foulk; sisters, Mary McDaniel of New Jersey and Marjorie Bevelhymer of Westerville; brothers-in-law, Ronald Armstrong and Donald (Lillian) Armstrong; sisters-in-law, Norma Donathan and Gwenneth Armstrong; special friends, Tony and Melanie Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews; and his little 4-legged companion, Hobo.
In addition to his parents, Jery was preceded in death by his brother, Charles (Martha) Foulk; brothers-in-law, Leon (Ed) Bevelhymer and Gerald McDaniel.
Friends may call 2-6 PM, Sunday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside, Delaware with Masonic service at 5:45 PM. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, April 15, 2013, at the funeral home, with Pastor Chris Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, New Albany with military honors rendered by the VFW Post 4719 and the American Legion 797.
