Jerry A. Navin, age 68, of Oak Street, Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday November 5, 2008 at his home. He was born on March 14, 1940 in Marion, Ohio to the late Robert and Mary (Matthews) Navin. Jerry had previously worked at Peabody Galion for twenty-nine years before retiring in 2006 after eighteen years of employment with Rolls-Royce of Mount Vernon. He had served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Gay Street United Methodist Church where he was active in the choir. Jerry also served on the board of directors for the Red Cross of Knox County.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 44 years Carol (Kightlinger) Navin, a son, Todd (Christine) Navin of Mount Vernon and his children, Joseph and Stella Navin, a son, Eric (Shannon) Navin of Worthington and his children, Emerson, Christopher and Spencer Navin and a brother, James (Rita) Navin of St. Louis, Missouri.

Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a grandson, Alex Navin.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the Gay Street United Methodist Church, 18 North Gay Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. Burial will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Galion, Ohio.
