Rev. Jerrell F. Ivy, 66, of 675 Richardson Ave., Galion, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Galion Community Hospital.

Born December 30, 1938 in Dexter, Mo., he was the son of the late Noah Frank Ivy and Sarah Ann Terry Ivy. He was preceded in death on May 9, 2005 by his wife, Thelma Gillam Ivy whom he married on March 3, 1956.

He was an ordained minister in the Apostolic Churches of Jesus Christ. He pastored Galion Gospel Tabernacle for 20 years. The last couple years he did evangelistic ministry with Rev. Dallas Stamper. He was a talented musician and played many instruments.

He was a machinist at Perfection-Cobey Co. and later at Galion Dresser where he was Quality Control Inspector prior to his retirement. He also owned Ivy Home Improvement and Construction.

Surviving are his three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Allen Milligan, Marlene and John Williams and Cheryl Baldwin, all of Galion; two sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Jonnie Ivy of Lisbon, Jonathan and April Ivy of Crestline; 16 grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Alveda Sue and Alfred Castle of Galion; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Kay Ivy of Galion, Darrell and Beverly Ivy of Delaware and Richard and Darrel Ivy of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by one son, James Ivy; one sister, Virginia Marie Awbrey; two brothers, Melvin Eugene Ivy and David Ivy and four nieces and nephews including Staff Sgt. Kendall Ivy, II, U.S.M.C. who was killed in action, recently, in Iraq.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, with Dallas R. Stamper officiating. Burial will be next to his wife in Iberia Cemetery.
