  • I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Jennie.

I met her as a freshman playing basketball at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University. I remember her big smile, warm and encouraging ways. She had an impact on my life as she encouraged me to never give up despite the obstacles that may come our way. That was a message I’ve carried with me all my life. I imagine seeing her again in heaven and she will no doubt challenge me to a game of basketball.

Jennie’s family are in my thoughts and prayers.

  • Todd, Phyllis and family – I am so sorry to hear of Jennie’s passing. She was such a sweet and kind person. Her smile and laugh shined with the light of Christ. My sympathies with you all!

  • God had to take her home to heal her. She served Him well and received ETERNITY in HEAVEN..Praying for all of her family for peace and please keep her alive for her grandchildren by sharing her pictures and all of her achievements.

  • We can’t even to begin to tell you how bad we feel about the terrible loss of Jennie. She was so wonderful. John would feel the same. He and Karyn are in California taking their son Hayden to Redlands College. They won’t be home until Sunday night so they will not be able to attend either service. Phyllis, you are such a great lady and we all love you. I know you and the rest of Jennie”s family will be lost without her. Hope to meet her and all of your family again in heaven.

  • I remember seeing Jenny walk passed me in the hallway on my first day of teaching at Centerburg. I thought she might be as tall as me and then found out she was a freshman. Several years later I had the privelage of being her basketball coach when she was a high school player. She had a beaming smile and made the game fun! I am sue she is enjoying the streets of gold after hearing “Well done good and faithful servant!”

  • Todd, Jarad and Joel our hearts are with you. As many have noted, Jennie’s smile is something I will always miss. The greatest comfort we all have is knowing that she is with the Father now and will be waiting to meet us in heaven with that great smile.

  • We, as so many others are so sorry for the loss of Jennie from this earth. She was a beautiful person. With hearts hurting for all of your family we send our deepest sympathy.

  • I cannot imagine what you are feeling, such a beautiful lady inside and out. I have never heard her say a bad thing about anybody. You all are in my prayers, Phyllis, Todd, Jared and Joel and his sweet family. 💔💔💔

Jennie brought so much to the Centerburg Garden Club, we miss her already. She was a little hesitant to be our president but once she accepted the position she blossomed! All her ideas were amazing, she loved her community and wanted to make it more beautiful. She loved her flowers very much and enjoyed the beauty they brought. 🌸🌸🌸

I miss you madam president, until we meet again.

  • Phyllis and family,
We send our deepest sympathy to you all. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

  • Our condolences to the entire Borton and Fuller family. The Centerburg Farm Festival and Parade will never be the same for us without Jennie and her mother riding the garden club float.

  • Todd, boys and Mrs. Fuller,
The staff at Lower Lights Ministries is grieving with you. The inner city children Jennie touched with her joyful engagement at our annual “Farm Trip,” are richer for having experienced her loving smile and hopeful love. I wanted you to know we intend to remember Jennie briefly at our annual Celebration of Hope this year, by noting her passing at the end of our children’s video. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Bill and I deeply regret not being able to attend the services this weekend. We wonder if there would be a “Ruark and Sons Automotive” in Sunbury, if Jennie and Todd hadn’t made a way for us to move the business into town. The grace and kindness we received during those early years made a scary move a lot easier.

We trust the promise of Psalm 34:18 and know He will carry you through your grief.
    Bill and Jan Ruark
