Jennifer Ann “Jenny” Kauffman
August 30, 1976 ‒ April 05, 2009
LEXINGTON~ Passion and loyalty, honesty and devotion all found a home in Jenny Kauffman. Bright and articulate, Jenny made intentional life choices to make life better for her young family.
At 32 years old, married, with three daughters, Jenny was a “Type-A Personality” who worked passionately and wholehearted on projects.
Jenny “fought the good fight, finished the race, kept the faith” (II Tim 4:7), when her year-long battle with brain cancer completed. She passed from “faith” to “sight” Sunday afternoon from the Hospice House of Hospice of North Central Ohio.
Born Jennifer Ann McCall August 30, 1976 in Mansfield to Pamela K. (Ellsworth) and Randall I. McCall, Jenny was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1994, and later that year she married Benjamin M. Kauffman.
Jenny did a little of everything at Leaning Tower Pizza, from cooking to clerking, served as receptionist at Shear Pizazz hair salon and represented Pampered Chef for home-sale parties.
She made family a priority and for the past eight years home-schooled her daughters. Much more than just a teacher, Jenny was their mentor, friend, life coach and chauffeur.
Quite the bargain shopper, Jenny knew how to stretch a dollar and was very practically minded. Well organized, she paid perfect attention to detail.
In friendships, Jenny was loyal. She was honest to a fault, and the extent to which she enjoyed life was often measured in her lovely giggle…that could turn into a cackle.
She had worked as a clerk with Kohl’s department store, but was more passionate about working for the Kingdom of God. For seven years, she and Ben were instrumental in the children’s ministry of Journey Life Center ~ serving the Lord and planting the gospel message in young hearts.
She also planted and fussed in her flower garden, and described as “the best Mom in the world”, she was getting to be quite the good cook.
Her husband Ben survives, as do her precious three daughters Alyssa, Kaitlyn and Hannah. Her family includes her father Randy McCall, a sister Jessica McCall and a brother James McCall all of Mansfield; her grandmothers Betty Ellsworth and JoAnn McCall both of Mansfield; her mother-in-law Darlene Gaul of Savannah, GA; her father-in-law Michael Kauffman of Ontario; grandmother-in-law Katherine Kauffman of Ontario; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Rachael & Rick Arneson of Lexington and Sarah & Brian McCann of Savannah, GA.
Her mother is deceased.
The Kauffman Family will receive friends Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where the service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. Chaplain Ben Roby will officiate.
