Fredericktown, Ohio

Jeffrey Allan Sell, age 67, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at his residence. He was born on November 16, 1950 in Wadsworth, Ohio, to William A. and Mary H. (Curtis) Sell.

Jeff grew up in Westerville, Ohio, where he graduated from Westerville South High School in 1970. After high school, he attended New York Technical Institute.  He was a member of the Ohio National Guard 211th Maintenance Company in Newark, Ohio from 1971-1977.

Jeff had a gift of being able to repair anything mechanical. This God-given gift led him to future employers.  Jeff worked as a car mechanic for Gene Gould Dodge in Westerville, Ohio, and also Bob Caldwell in Columbus, Ohio.  He worked at Metal Container Corporation, a subsidiary of Anheuser Busch in Columbus, Ohio for 32 years. He retired from the Ball Corporation after two years in 2012.

Jeff had a loving, generous, and giving heart. He helped countless people throughout his life…family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike.  His interests included golf, gardening, cars, his family, children, and grandsons.  He loved the outdoors and always planted a large vegetable garden every year and shared the produce with neighbors and family.  His grandsons had many fun-filled days playing in PaPa’s garden and eating the tomatoes, peppers and snow peas off the vine.

Most importantly, Jeff loved his Lord. He demonstrated this in what he did for others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Janet L. (Warner) Sell; children, Kristen (David Barnes) Sell, Matt (Sara) Sell; grandchildren, Caleb and Owen Sell; brothers, William (Mary Ann) Sell, Curtis (Sue) Sell; many nieces and nephews.

Along with his father, Jeff is preceded in death by a nephew, Joseph Sell.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 12:00 PM until the time of funeral service starting at 1:00 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 E. College St. in Fredericktown, Ohio, 43019 with Evangelist Troy Northrop officiating. Burial will be held in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown, Ohio.
