Jeanna Kay Slone, age 54, died peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Kobacker House following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 1, 1965 in Columbus to Clarence and Carolyn (Terry) Slone, who survive her.

Graduate of Big Walnut High School where she was on the Track and Field team and competed in the High Jump.  A natural born Caretaker, Jeanna loved raising her children, visiting them at their homes and vacationing with them, often at Gatlinburg, TN.  She didn’t stop there…she often helped out with grandchildren and was legal guardian and caretaker for three of them.  Jeanna was well known for her lifelong love of Christmas and horses.

She was preceded in death by brother, Eric Slone.

In addition to her parents she is survived by devoted children and their spouses, Evan and Emily Walker of Columbus, Journey and Evan Hayes of Holly Ridge, NC, and Brandy Slone; adoring grandchildren, Kennedy and Nathan Fleshman, Marianna Slone, Ezmay Walker and Natalie Eckel; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Jeff Fleak of Sunbury; nieces and nephews.

Private family service and interment.  A public Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Although I haven’t seen her since we graduated, I have fond memories of 4-H meetings, horse shows, track practice and meets and nights spent at her house…I remember she was always smiling and laughing.
