Jean E. Unkefer, 94, of Waldo passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 10, 1921 in Reading, Pennsylvania to the late John H. Eyrich and Mamie (Kaufman) Eyrich. She graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio and during World War II had worked at the Electric Company and later at the post office in Cleveland.
Jean was a member of Christ the King Community Church in Fredericktown and years ago was a member of the American Turners Social and Cultural Club in Cleveland. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, making crafts, crocheting and sewing.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Jill (Lucian) Baker of Waldo; son John Unkefer of Cleveland; four grandchildren Tammy (Ken) Watts, Daniel (Christina) Baker, Elizabeth (Juan) Camacho and John (Becky) Unkefer II; seven great grandchildren and one on the way; sister Arlene Benko of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Unkefer in 1992.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 13th, from 11 am – 12 pm at Christ the King Community Church, 15598 McClellan Road, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019 where memorial services will follow at 12:00 pm with her son-in-law, Rev. Lucian Baker officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Ashley Union Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center in Delaware.
