LEXINGTON- Jean Day, 78, passed away in her house on Friday, January 30, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years James H. Day who passed away on October 24, 2000, as well as her parents and her grandson Michael McDaniel.
She is survived by three children Lou Ann, Daniel, and Diane; grandchildren Darcie (Brent) Broom, Jason (Megan) Day, Matt McDaniel, and Jamie (Alan) Feeman; great grandchildren Keaton, Darbie, and Cooper; siblings Joan Dininger, Norma Britt, Nancy DeLong, Sue Kurtz, and Bill and Lewis Harry.
Jean was born on October 28, 1930 in Mifflin Township to Wilbur and Elsie (Griffith) Harry.
A lifelong area resident, Jean was a loving mother who was proud to raise her three children. She previously volunteered her time as an usher at the Renaissance Theatre. Recently she worked at Sam’s Club in the food department.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society as well as the Richland County Fair Board Women’s Auxiliary. In her earlier years Jean worked alongside her husband helping with the family dairy farm. The two also co-owned Day’s Popcorn Concession’s.
The family will receive friends on Sunday February 1, 2009 from 1-3pm in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home (Formerly Finefrock Funeral Home) where the funeral will be on Monday at 10am. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
