Marion, Ohio

Jason Ray Moore, age 44 of Marion, passed away at his home on Friday May 11, 2018.

Jason was born on September 1, 1973 in Marion, the son of Garry and Christine (Chapman) Moore. Jason graduated from Harding High School in the class of 1992. He went on to Tri-Rivers where he learned to become a welder. Jason owned and operated a contracting business.

Kind, gentle, humble is just a few words that describe who Jason was. Even though he had physical challenges in his life, he overcame and conquered. Jason was a special blessing to his family, being the only grandchild for the first 6 years; he developed a strong bond with his Papa Jake. His grandfather took him fishing, both wearing their signature baseball caps. He had a passion for sports and loved to watch any number of games. He was a bit of a pool shark, always having with him is own custom cue stick. Card games and marbles games were a family tradition, especially euchre. Jason adored his family and will always be remembered for his warm and generous spirit.

He is survived by his mother Christine Moore; his grandmother Doris Combs; aunts: Victoria Lowe, Judy Chapman, Ruth Horn and Glenna Faye.

Jason is preceded in death by his father Garry Moore; his grandfathers: Jake Chapman and Jim Combs; and Uncle Danny Chapman.

Visitation will be Friday, May 18, 2018 at Snyder Funeral Homes, DENZER Chapel, 360 East Center St. Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Celebration of life service will be Saturday at the funeral home at 10AM with Pastor Frank Isaacs officiating; Burial will be in Claridon Cemetery.

  • Jason was a warm gentle person. He cared for his family, friends, and most importantly his 4 legged furry baby, Daisy . She was his bodyguard, watchdog, comforter, and carrier of his heart’s secrets.
He was kind, thoughtful, and big-hearted. He will be missed by many.
    Rest in pain-free peace!
    Terri Opper, his neighbor.

  • Jason Ray Moore I hope you are listening this is your Aunt Vic. Why did you leave us so soon? There are things that happen in this world that we don”t understand. I won”t
have a euchre partner to play with. I loved being your partner ( because we always
won }. You was one hell of a euchre player. It breaks my heart knowing you didn’t get
a far shake at life. All your pain and suffering is over. No more being bullied, no more
being made fun of and no more struggling with everyday life. I admire your strength and courage that it took to carry on everyday. I admire you…. You are my hero. Nobody knows what it took for you to live life everyday. You are free now Jason. Walk proud and know you have done everything you could to survive. I will miss you deeply. I already do, but have come to terms with it. Now I will try and carry on without you. I know that’s what you would want. You was a { Storm Trooper ) challenging and conquered everyday struggles what we take for granted as everyday life. Hold your head up and walk proud for you are free. God Bless You Jason Ray Moore….I’m sure you already are.
    You will be truly missed
