BELLVILLE: Janice D. Freitchen, 74, of Watkins Glen Blvd., Marysville, died Saturday afternoon March 25, 2006 in The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, following a short illness.
She was born October 21, 1931 in Ada to Francis and Eliza Ann (Stanley) Dysert.
A homemaker, Janice lived in Cleveland Heights from 1965 until moving to Marysville in September of 2005.
She was a member of the Church of the Redeemer United Methodist, where she chaired the Memorial Committee for many years, served on Pastor Parish Committee and attended Wednesday morning Bible Study.
Described as a loving mother, Janice focused her energy on her family ~ especially her grandchildren ~ and her church work. A marvelous baker and avid reader, she would keep sharp with crossword puzzles, and enjoyed engaging others in a round of Scrabble.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Albert L. Freitchen of Tucson, Arizona, Susan E. and David Yotive of Marysville, the Rev. Nancy A. F. and Stephen Gibson of Novelty, and Steven M. Freitchen of Cleveland Heights and his companion Barbara; five grandchildren Eric Freitchen, Christopher and Michael Yotive, and Robert and Katherine Gibson; three sisters Beverly Goon of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sandy Ward and Sharon Dickerson both of Butler; two brothers Arden Dysert and Glenn Agin both of Butler and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy C. Freitchen in July of 2002; and also by a sister Doris Agin.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 28, 2006 from 6-8 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 am. Her daughter, the Rev. Nancy A. F. Gibson will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Dan Bryant. Burial will follow in Bunkerhill Cemetery.
