Janet Lee Ullmer
November 01, 1940 ‒ March 13, 2010
Janet Lee Ullmer, age 69, of Marion, died unexpectedly in the evening on Saturday March, 13, 2010, at the Marion Manor Nursing Home.
On November 1, 1940, Janet was born in Marion, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Eleanor D. (Bender) Ullmer. She graduated from Waldo High School in the class of 1958.
Having worked in many different capacities, Janet was employed by Economy Loan for many years, one year as a stewardess for Lake Central Airlines, eleven years at Boise Cascade, and two years at Marion City Hall.
A woman of great faith, Janet was an active member at the Peace Community United Church of Christ where she participated in the church’s senior choir and it’s Faith Circle. She considered her church her extended family and sent out birthday cards and get well cards to fellow members over the years.
An avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, Janet would spend countless hours cheering on the basketball and football teams.
Her giving personality compelled her to make cookies and buckeyes for many people she knew. Even after she had been sick she still proceeded to bake cookies, buckeyes, and fudge to send on to the doctor’s offices and to family and friends.
Janet will be dearly missed by her sister: Joan K. (Roy) Klingel of Marion; a nephew Todd A. (Carrie) Klingel of Dublin; a niece Gina R. Klingel of Marion; a great niece and nephew who were her pride and joy: Adelyn Grace and Maxton Ryan Klingel; an aunt Betty Gist of Florida and several cousins.
Funeral Services for Janet will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Peace Community United Church of Christ at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Joel Fetter officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Burial will follow at Waldo Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Peace Community United Church of Christ, Music Fund, 4061 Columbus-Sandusky Rd. South. Marion.
