Janet L. Miller

Janet L Miller, 78, of Galion, passed away Tuesday evening, February 18, 2014 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born August 17, 1935 in Galion and was the daughter of Harold J. and Mary Elizabeth (Howser) Miller.
Janet graduated from Galion High School in 1953. She was involved with the school system for many years. Janet coached Galion High School softball, volunteered as a scorekeeper for the volleyball team and worked as a teacher’s assistant for 20 years. The students knew her as “firm but fair”. Janet enjoyed golfing, bowling and softball. She volunteered with the Red Cross by teaching many children swimming lessons for at least 20 years. Janet previously worked as a circuit designer for 25 years at the former North Electric and its successors. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Galion and was on several committees.
Janet is survived by a sister, Linda S. Miller of Omaha, NE; three brothers, Herbert L. (Darlene) Miller of Laguna Hills, CA, Charles W. (Betty) Miller of Galion and H. John, Jr. (Patricia) Miller of Doylestown, OH; her beloved sidekick Cocoa and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 2 to 4p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 in the Christ United Methodist Church, 130 E. Walnut St.,Galion with Rev. Jerry Penrod officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
