Jane E. Wert

MANSFIELD: Jane E. Wert, age 97, of Mansfield passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 16, 2010 in Winchester Terrace Nursing Home following a very brief illness.
She was born November 24, 1912 in Mansfield the daughter of Arthur and Edna (Shively) Wilford, and was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1930. Following high school, Jane attended Mansfield Business School.
On December 9, 1939 she married William Edgar Wert who preceded her in death in 2004.
A homemaker, Jane dedicated her time and talents to raising her three children.
A lifelong area resident, Jane was a member of Central United Methodist Church, but had most recently been a faithful participant of St. John’s United Church of Christ television ministries.
Jane was also active in Women’s Guild, Ruth Circle of her church, and volunteered frequently with feed the needy at St. Peter’s.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crafts and was always up for a hand of cards. Jane also appreciated flowers and spending time in her flower gardens. She was gifted at needlework and cooking.
Most of all, Jane will be remembered for her quick sense of humor and her “giving” example.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James E. and Janice Wert of Aiken, SC, daughter Nancy Musille of Ontario, a son-in-law Louie Beal of Mansfield, six grandchildren and their spouses Lori and Steve Subosits of Forest, VA, Jeffery Burson of Aiken, SC, Christopher and Amy Musille of Ontario, Leonard Musille of Ohio, Karie and Larry Garber of Bellville, and Jody and Jennifer Beal of Lawton, OK, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Jane was preceded in death by her daughter Susanne K. Beal on March 25, 2009, a son-in-law Richard Musille on January 2, 2006, and a brother Arthur O. Wilford.
Friends may call Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 2-4 pm in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Visitation continues Monday from 10-11 am with the funeral service following at 11 am. The Rev. Steven Mortach will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
True to Jane’s charitable giving, her family requests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or Kingwood Center and may be made through the funeral home.
