Jane A. DeLong, 72, of Galion passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus after a brief illness.

Born September 28, 1944 in Marion, she was the daughter of Adolphus B. and Frances E. (McCain) Martin. She married Robert DeLong on June 7, 1969 and he survives.

Jane was a dietician at the former Atwood Manor in Galion for 11 years and later worked 15 years at the Galion Family Dollar as Assistant Manager retiring in 2015. She loved sewing and was a self-taught seamstress making many bridesmaids’ dresses. Jane enjoyed gardening and canning and was affectionately known to many as “Mom.”

In addition to her husband she is survived by daughter Kim DeLong of Marion; nephews Billy (Hannah) Brown and Charles Brown, all of Marion; niece Theresa (Keith) Lelux of South Carolina and several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters Betty McKinnis, Juanita Gibson and Lucille Brown; niece Lynn McKinnis and nephews Michael McKinnis and James McKinnis.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8 with Pastor Paul Walter officiating. Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery in Marion.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crawford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
