James Zeigler, 93, of Springfield formerly of Fredericktown died Wednesday morning, December 13, 2017 at Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield. He was born in Mansfield on October 1, 1924 to the late James E. and Ann V. (Sovendal) Zeigler.
Jim honorably served his country in the Army during WWII serving in Germany, France, Belgium and Austria. Over the years, he was an engineer, a locksmith and a security guard. Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge and attended the New Life Church in Fredericktown.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Larma of Leawood, KS; step daughters, Jeanne Berry of Lucas and Tammy Hermann of Tucson, AZ; step sons, Steve Wilson of Tallahassee, FL, John Wilson of Waco, TX and Terrance Wilson of Colorado Springs, CO; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brother, Dwight Zeigler of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Mae (Ross) Zeigler; second wife, Doris (Ritter) Zeigler; and a brother, Forrest Zeigler; and sisters, Laura Heath and Ruth Tinkey.
The family will have a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Snyder Funeral Home in Bellville, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be in Bellville Cemetery at a later date.
