James S. Franceschelli

James S. Franceschelli, age 66, a recent resident of Galena, Ohio and a longtime resident of Youngstown, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after suffering from a stroke.
Born in Struthers, Ohio, May 10, 1944 to Mary (Franceschelli) Reichert, Jimmie served in the Army and was a police officer for the Youngstown Police Department before starting to work in the construction field, eventually running his own company, Commercial Maintenance & Construction, for twenty years. He was recently retired from the position of Safety Director at B & B Construction Company.
A devoted husband, loving and supportive father, and doting grandfather, Jimmie most valued the time spent with his family. He was also an extremely gregarious person who left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for telling entertaining stories. He enjoyed great food, especially the peppers and wine he loved to make. An incredibly kind and generous man, Jimmie was always eager to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters Deana and Anna, Anna’s husband Jeff Davis; grandchildren Dominic and Vincent Scarsella; sisters: Margaret Carfagno, MaryAnn (Rick) Check, Phyllis Carfagno; aunt: LeeBee (Danny) Thomas and many nieces, nephews and cousins
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columba Cathedral on Wednesday July 14, 2010 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown State University or The American Heart Association.
