James Rolo Gardner of Atlanta, Georgia passed away April 23, 2011 surrounded by his children.

Jim was born September 8, 1928 in Columbus and was the son of Rollo Zealland Gardner and Gladys Marie Fisher, who was raised by the Caris family of Cardington. A graduate of Ohio State University, Jim served honorably in the United States Army.

He is survived by his six children, Ann G. Mucnnich husband, James, sons, Adam and Peter of Cincinnati; Joseph S. Gardner, Sr. wife, Coleen, sons, Joseph S., Jr. and Benjamin of Alpharetta, Ga.; Virginia Beth Dilworth husband, Mike, daughters, Catherine, Margaret and Mary of Roswell, Ga.; Laura G. Hamilton husband, David, daughter, Stephanie, son, Stephen of Jackson, Miss.; Amy G. Munroe husband, Phil of Duluth, Ga. and James P. Gardner wife, Beth, daughter, Grace of Alphretta, Ga.

Rollo Zealland was the son of Peter Powell Gardner, son of James Gardner, son of Andrew Gardner. Andrew was born in Dramore, Ireland, while James, Peter and Zealland were born in Morrow County in and around Fulton. There is still an extended Gardner family in the area. Rollo, Peter, James and Andrew are all buried in Fulton, Ohio. Jim will be laid to rest with his parents in Fulton Cemetery at noon, Saturday, June 18, 2011.
