James Ray Hall

James Ray Hall, aged 87, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Marion General Hospital.  He was born on August 6, 1931 in Marion to the late James and Hazel (Hoffman) Hall.

Ray served our nation from 1950 to 1954 as a B-17 and B-25 Flight Engineer in the United States Air Force.  He was a Master Tool and Die Maker, with an eye for precision and a knack for understanding how things worked.  He worked at Clark Metal Products for 43 years.  Ray enjoyed fishing, travel, and photography.  He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Ray is survived by his wife of 62 years Joyce (Matson) Hall, son Mark (Nancy White), grandchildren Jaclyn, Jordan, Claire, and Lauren, brother-in-law Ronald Dawson, and his wife, Jan.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his son and favorite musician Doug (Pat) Hall, brother Francis (Loretta) Hall, and Cliff (Susie) Hall.

Friends and family may call Friday, January 4, 2019 for visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Home, Gunder/Hall Chapel, 347 W Center St, Marion, OH 43302. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Schuring officiating.  Burial will follow at Claridon Cemetery.
