James M. “Jim” Jones, 68, of Delaware passed away early Wednesday morning December 28, 2011 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 12, 1943 in Columbus to James L. and Virginia (Andrews) Jones. He served as grounds superintendent for the Delaware County Fairgrounds for 19 years before retiring from the maintenance department for the Delaware City Schools. He enjoyed fishing, hanging out in the garage tinkering on things, and spending time with the grandkids. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda (Berry); son, Mark (Tarri) Jones of Delaware; daughter, Wendee (Rob) Kroninger of Delaware; 5 grandchildren, Leah and Josh Jones, and Hannah, Haley, and Grace Kroninger; 2 brothers, Tom (Caren) and Mike Jones of Delaware; his mother, Virginia Jones of Delaware; brother-in-law, Randy (Debbie) Berry of Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father. The family will receive friends on Monday January 2nd from 5 – 8 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware and where funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 3rd at 11:00 am with Rev. Wayne Keith officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will then host a reception in the Rodman Neeper Community Room immediately following the graveside services.
