James W. Lahmon, 58, of Delaware, passed away early on Saturday, January 5, 2008, in Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware, following a brief illness. He was born on January 18, 1949 in Mount Vernon, Ohio and was the son of William. F. and Dorathy (Gorsuch) Lahmon. He had lived in Delaware since 1974. During the Vietnam Era, he had served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine’s. He was first employed with the Knox County Sheriff’s Department for 2 years, and then moved to Delaware where he was employed with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department for 31 years. He was a collector of all sorts of knives and swords. He also enjoyed watching New York Yankee’s baseball games and the Michigan State University football games.
He is survived by his loving wife- Patricia A. (Dunn) Lahmon, whom he married on September 17, 1981; 2 sons- Michael J. Lahmon of Fredericktown, Ohio and Matthew W. Hall; 2 daughters- Brittany M. Ward and Jennifer A. Lahmon of Delaware; his father- William F. Lahmon of Fredericktown, Ohio; 4 grandchildren- Lilah G. Hall, Corbin J. Ward, Jacob M. Ward and Heather E. Lahmon. He was preceded in death by his mother- Dorathy (Gorsuch) Lahmon. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., in the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 West William Street, Delaware.
