MANSFIELD: James L. Yankura, 81, of Madison Road passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness.

James was born on March 30, 1927 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania to John and Dora (Sapko) Yankura. Following high school James enlisted in the Air Force.

For over 20 years he worked for Drop Forge, a steel manufacturer in the Cleveland area. James was also a member of the America Legion, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Moose.

In his spare time James enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his twin brother and sister-in-law Frank and Frances Yankura of Jefferson, PA; special friends and caregivers Marlene Baker and Tammy Nedolast, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and caregivers.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his lifelong companion Grace Brown.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 1-2pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Homes with the funeral service starting at 2pm. Pastor Dale V. Adkins will officiate. Military honors performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Honor Burial Detail will follow the funeral. Interment in Mansfield Cemetery will be at a later date.
