James “Jim” Hulbert

August 11, 1946 ‒ January 22, 2019

Fredericktown, Ohio

FREDERICKTOWN: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:3

Jim moved into his new heavenly home Tuesday morning January 22, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family. He was 72.

He was born August 11, 1946 in Peru, Indiana to parents Warren & Dorothy (Bingle) Hulbert. Jim graduated from Edon High School with the class of 1964 and went on to graduate from Great Lakes Christian College after which he served his country by joining the Air Force.

A beautiful young lady named Jeanine Cook caught his eye in high school and they dated all through school. The pair made their commitment to each other official getting married on Sunday, August 14, 1966.

Jim worked many different jobs including farmer, race track owner, feed salesman, auctioneer, family counselor and minister, where he served God for over 30 years. In recent years Jim regularly attended and was active at Storyside Church.

In spare time, he took pleasure in watching races, traveling just about anywhere and above all, Jim cherished his family especially his grandchildren. Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, his way with words and his outgoing personality.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Jeanine Hulbert; son Josiah (Sarah) Hulbert; grandchildren Leah, Allyson and Mason James; father Warren Hulbert; brother Gordon (Connie) Hulbert; sister-in-law Marytha (John) Pitt

In addition to his mother Dorothy Hulbert, Jim was preceded in death by his in-laws Wendell & Naomi Cook.

The Hulbert family will receive friends Friday, January 25, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Jim’s life will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10 a.m. Pastor Micah Pelkey will speak. Jim will be buried in Rittman National Cemetery.

Contributions in Jim’s memory to Storyside Church (to benefit the children’s ministry) may be made at the funeral home.
