LEXINGTON: James A. “Jim” Foley, 80, of Lexington passed away Tuesday morning, January 17, 2017 at his home.

The son of Carl and Helen (Welker) Foley, Jim was born January 6, 1937 in Van Wert and graduated from Central High School in Lima.  On October 26, 1957 he married Jacqueline Eikenbary.

Jim retired from Sprint.  He worked for 37 years, starting as an installation and repairman and completed his tenure in management.

Hardworking and committed, Jim always gave 100%.  He enjoyed gardening and maintaining a pristine landscape.  He not only collected sports cards but traveled across the country selling thousands of cards in card shows.  Jim enjoyed bird watching and bird feeding.  In the summer months he’d hang multiple bird feeders and would use numerous bags of feed.  Jim was an active member of the Model A Club.  He owned a 1930 Model A Coupe and 1929 Model A Leatherback, and would often participate in Model A Meets.  Jim was an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking his family for rides on his pontoon.

He had a one of a kind laugh.  More than anything Jim loved and appreciated his family.  Vacations and holidays were spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Jacqueline “Jackey” Foley of Lexington; children Dennis (Jennifer) Foley of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Deborah (Timothy) Hayes of Cincinnati; daughter-in-law Teri (John) Foley-Kanz of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; special cousins Pat (Tom) Long; sister-in-law Judy (Joseph) Ciminillo.

Along with his parents Jim was preceded in death by his son David Foley.

The Foley family will receive friends, Friday, January 20, 2017 from 11am-1 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where his funeral service will begin at 1 pm.  Celebrant Jerry Wilson will speak.  Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
