James “Jim” Douglas, 94, of Delaware passed away peacefully April 7, 2021 at his daughter’s residence in Cape Coral, Florida.

He was born April 22, 1926 in Sunbury to the late Roy and Lelia (Whetnall) Douglas and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II.

Retiring from Ranco Manufacturing, Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards. He also loved watching all sports, especially the OSU Buckeyes.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jack (Jane) Douglas of Owasso, Oklahoma, Judy Zerbe of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Ginni (Bill) Bostwick of Cape Coral, Florida; grandson, Eric Zerbe; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine, granddaughter Nicole Zerbe, 3 brothers and a sister.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:30 am at Oak Grove Cemetery with Celebrant Ed Schlote officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Delaware County Veterans Association and members of the United States Navy.

  • I knew Jim many years ago at Ranco. He was my supervisor. There was no finer a man that I knew. I played many rounds of golf with him in the Ranco golf league. He was an influence on me as a very young man. So sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences, Larry Vanbrimmer
