James H. Fish, age 69 of Delaware passed away Sunday afternoon at Grady Memorial Hospital following a year long illness.

Born on June 24, 1944 in Delaware, he was the son of the late William H. and Nellie M. (Covrett) Fish. A former bus assembler with Flexible, he retired after almost 20 years with Midwest Acoust-A-Fiber, where he worked as a press operator.

A member of Grace United Methodist Church and former Delaware Eagles member, he was a huge fan of the OSU football team. Skilled in the craft of woodworking, he treasured a project. He raised rabbits and also enjoyed collecting VW model cars. With a smile, he had a passion for making people laugh and was forever kind and helpful. A good father and devoted husband, he was gentle hearted and always concerned for others.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of almost 17 years: Mary (Reichert), young son Jimmy at home, daughters Angie (Kenneth) Leisure of Delaware, Robin (Scott) Ray of Dublin, 6 grandchildren: Tiffany, Jake, Reese Jr., Andrea, McKenzie, great-grandchildren Richard and Miliah, as well as brothers Kenny (Linda) Fagley and Keith Fish both of Delaware.

He was also preceded in death by grandson Jeremy Fish in 2002 and sister Amy Nelson in 2001.

Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr., Delaware where services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Rev. David Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Oller Cemetery.
