James “Ed” Schrack, 92, of North Walnut Street, Mount Gilead, Ohio died Saturday, February 14, 2004 in Morrow County Hospital.
He was born on September 24, 1911, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the son of the late Clyde and Clara Shepard Shrack. He served as a medical logistics staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked in sales and management in the clothing industry until retiring. Ed was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was an accomplished musician and played the guitar, banjo, French horn, and ukulele for big band and vaudeville shows. He also enjoyed woodworking and his CB radio.
He is survived by his wife Beryl Barber Schrack, whom he married in September 1946; a daughter and son-in-law Judi and Terry Berridge of Canyon Lake, Texas; three grandchildren Terry Berridge II, Michelle Berridge Scoville and her husband Thomas Scoville, and Matthew and his wife Lucrecia Berridge; three great grandchildren Jared and Rebecca Hall and Alex Scoville; a niece Patricia Hennessee; and a nephew Craig Waggaman.
A sister Mary Alice Shrack preceded him in death.
Rev. Dennis L. Braun will conduct funeral services in the Craven Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 2 p.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
