James A. “Jim” Franklin

James A. “Jim” Franklin, age 65 of Marion, passed away on Monday December 17, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Jim was born on November 11, 1953 in Marion, the son of Alvin Eugene and Marguerite June (Knapp) Franklin.

Jim loved life and loved all of those around him. He especially enjoyed his annual trips to Lake Erie to go fishing with his family. Jim was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed cheering them on. He had a deep and abiding faith in his Lord and was a devoted member of the Tabernacle of Praise in Crestline.

He is survived by his devoted siblings: Monna Leonard, Brenda (Arnold) Biggs, Patricia (Ted Thomas) Meade, Tony (Lisa) Franklin, Stephanie (Ray) Stith and his nephew Denim (Jessica) Franklin who is more like a brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Danny Franklin, Yvonne Thomas and Alvin Franklin.

Visitation will be Friday, December 21, 218 at Victory Center Church of God, 1190 E Fairground St, Marion from 10AM to 11AM; Funeral service will follow at 11AM with Pastor Joshua Cole officiating; burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
