Jack D. Lamb

Jack D. Lamb, 80, of Galion, died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Galion Community Hospital, after an extended illness.
Born Apr. 9, 1928 in Iuka, Miss., he was the son of the late Thomas Lamb and Rosie Borden Lamb. He married Mary K. Crayne Lamb on Oct. 18, 1957 and she survives.
He retired in 2001 and worked for Armour, Swift and Eckridge for nine years at a meat processing company in Nevada, Ohio. Prior to that he worked in the oil fields in various states across the country for 30 years where he set tanks and separators and has worked for all the domestic oil producers.
Surviving are six daughters and three sons-in-law, Lindy Benton of Nesbitt, Miss., Jackqueline Lamb of Bay Village, Ohio, Debra Fox of Galion, Cindy and Randy Griner of Indianapolis, Sandra and Randy Burke of Onida, Tenn. and Laura and Gary Johnson of Wellington; 12 grandchildren, Kim Burk, Chris Burk, Tracy Burk, Travis Staci Lamb, Emily Lamb, Matthew Cosart, Heather Flugga, Brittney LaRiche, Carrie Latham, Cassie Manley, Caylee Latham and Jack Johnson and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda McCullen; four brothers, Estes, Zed, Bill and Marvin and three sisters, Loder Kincade, Irene Hunter and Dorothy Austin.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Crawford County Memory Gardens with Pastor Gary Grant officiating. Private calling hours will be held for the family.
