She was born January 21, 1914 in Greenwich to Calvin and Sybil (Mead) Pickworth, and was graduated from New London High School in 1933.

She was a member of Lexington Grace Brethren Church, where she served the congregation as deaconess. She was also a member of the Steam Corners Ever Thoughtful Club, Richland County Retired Teachers Association, and a former member of American Association of University Women.

Iva Mae was a prayer warrior, who dearly loved reading Holy Scripture. She was attentive to take notes during sermons, not just in worship services, but also while watching tele-evangelist’s messages.

She will be remembered for her wit, her love of teaching, and her love for her family…you could not be around Iva Mae very long without hearing her brag a little about her children and grandchildren J
