Iva Irene Sheehan, of Crestline, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019, on her 93rd birthday, at Signature HealthCARE Skilled Nursing Facility in Galion, after a 5 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Irene was born in Crestline on April 30, 1926 to William H. Scheiber and Iva Gertrude (Stout) Scheiber. She was a 1944 graduate of Crestline High School.

She and Robert C. Sheehan of Cleveland eloped to Greenup, KY on March 15, 1946. They were married for 47 years, until his death in April, 1993.

Irene was a member of the First English Lutheran and then the Trinity Lutheran Churches in Crestline. She was a lifelong supporter of the Crestline Community and a loyal fan of the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State University Buckeyes.

Irene is survived by three children, Bill Sheehan, of New York, NY, James M. Sheehan, of Los Angeles, CA, Sally Sheehan of St. Paul, MN, a grandson, Jeff M. Sheehan, of Los Angeles, CA, a granddaughter, Kelly Sheehan, of New York, NY, and a sister, Joan (Scheiber) Gehrisch of Crestline.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James M. Scheiber of Mansfield.

Per her wishes, there will be no memorial service or funeral. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest beside her husband in Greenlawn Cemetery, in Crestline.
