MANSFIELD: Iris Bettina Berrier, age 95, of Mansfield passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Lexington Court Care Center.

She was born May 25, 1925 in Oxford, England, to the late Charles F. and Eva Bull.  Iris was raised with two sisters and a brother Kathleen, Eileen and Michael.   She was graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic Boarding School in England.

Iris worked in factory during WWII, supporting the war effort, where she met Robert Berrier.  The couple moved to the United States and were married December 16, 1955.  He preceded her in death in 1981.

Iris enjoyed gardening and flowers and was an avid reader.  Iris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a self-confessed cheese connoisseur; a meal simply wasn’t a meal without cheese.

She enjoyed volunteering with Dorcas at Seveneth Day Adventist Church, ringing the bells for the salvation army and doing various charity work.

Known to be a caretaker and put everyone’s needs in front of her own, Iris Will always be remembered and honored as a caring selfless spirit.

Surviving are her children Pam Nottingham of Bellville, Paula (David) Owens of Mansfield, Linda McKew of Manchester, England; grandchildren and their spouses Melissa White, Jason Carrico, Roberta Berrier-Baker, Dawn Marlatt, Sarah Baker, Mark Alltop, Matt Alltop, Jennifer Alltop, Jerry Goble, Rebecca Goble, Delma Hall, Jennifer Wallace, Ian Ritter; 63 great grandchildren, 36 great great grandchildren; and a son-in-law Larry Alltop.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters Donna Alltop and Delma Goble and a son in law Robert Nottingham, and a special friend Goral Adams.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 22, at 3:30 pm in Mansfield Cemetery.

Contributions in her memory may be made to Disabled Veterans of America.
