Irene June Jackson, 85 of Westerville, died Saturday October 17, 2009
at her home.
She was born on June 15, 1924 in Waterloo, England to the late Joseph and Ada Louise Alexandra (Cook) Thompson. She was an active member of Genoa Baptist church and had lived in the Westerville area for 29 years coming from Marengo.
June was artistic, thrifty and a very family oriented person, she dearly loved her family. She was an English Lady to the end, her heart may have been in England, but her home was where she was at. She was very convincing and could sell you a hot dog and make you believe it was steak.
She enjoyed painting, crafts, sewing, knitting and shopping for bargains. She enjoyed music, especially the Beatles, Nat King Cole, Tom Jones and country.
She is survived by sons: Douglas (Judy) Jackson of Dublin, Brandon Jackson of Westerville; daughters: Pam (Charles) Chalk of Live Oak, Fl., Mary (Bill) Nemeth of Atlanta, Ga., Diane Richeimer of Westerville, Jackie (Chris) Downs of Marengo, Sherri (Bruce) Covrett of Marengo. 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by husband: Ralph “Jack” Jackson on October 4 , 1997; sisters: Jacqueline and Valerie.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 3 p.m. at the Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Road, Westerville with Pastors Frank Carl and Wayne Booth officiating. Calling hours will not be observed and interment will follow in the Cheshire Cemetery. Arrangements in care of the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
