Irene B. Andorfer, age 73, of Mount Vernon, died Monday June 14, 2004 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born August 30, 1930 in Stamford, Connecticut to James and Irene (Bayliss) Kearns. Irene had been employed at James Tighe Insurance Agency in Mount Vernon for over 20 years and had also been employed at Paul’s Flowers in Mount Vernon.
She was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon and the Mount Vernon Elks Lodge.
Surviving are her son Steven Andorfer of Mount Vernon; three brothers Bob (Ann) Kearns of Newark, Delaware, James (Lynette) Kearns of Viera, Florida and Richard (Vicki) Kearns of Sidney, Ohio. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William “Pee Wee” Andorfer.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where a Rosary service will be held at 8 PM. A mass of the resurrection will be Friday at 10 AM at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Ted Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
