Icie E. Neely Queen, age 93, of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday September 8, 2009 at the Knox Community Hospital. Icie was born January 18, 1916 in Wallace, West Virginia to Arless Q. and Rozella (Heldreth) Rogers and moved to the Knox County area in 1943.
She had been employed as a supervisor for Ashcraft Janitorial Services at Cooper Energy Services in Mount Vernon. She was a member of the LDS Church in Mount Vernon.
Surviving are her daughter Janet (Larry) Miller of Mount Vernon; her sons Everett Burl Neely of Howard, Charles Blaine (Doris) Neely of Danville and Richard (Osa) Neely of Circleville; her son-in-law Robert Grubaugh of Mount Vernon and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Icie was preceded in death by her husbands Robert Hugh Neely, Earnest V. Queen, her daughter Betty Grubaugh, her son Archie Warren Neely, two sisters Opa Reine Bell and Virginia Snow Houssiere and five brothers Okey Winter Rogers, Owen Frost Rogers, Archie June Rogers, Ralph Day Rogers and Lloyd John Rogers.
Friends may call Thursday from 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
