Howard G. “Jerry” Joslin Jr., age 65, of Mount Vernon entered eternal peace on Thursday morning, November 1, 2012 at his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 11, 1947 in Mount Vernon, son of the late Howard G. and Margaret K. (Hutchinson) Joslin Sr.

He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam from 1967-1968 as a Tank Commander. He retired from JB Foote LLC in 2012, where he was a Supervisor and Purchasing Manager. He also worked at American National Can as a Quality Control Inspector. He was a member of the AmVets and was an actor for Mount Vernon Players at one time. He was the lead singer for the original Nomads R & R Band which continued off and on for many years. He was a member of the Methodist Church, finding Jesus 25 years ago. John 3:16.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Vickie (Arweller) Joslin; son, Jason E. Joslin of Mount Vernon; daughters, Jill (Nathan) Lewis of Centerburg and Jessi Joslin of Mount Vernon; step son, Jeremy (Kristi) White of Mount Vernon; step daughters, K. Renee White of Corbett, Oregon and Jenni Bonnette of New Albany; grandchildren, Siera Stevens, Tristen Bonnette, Uriah White, Kathleen Joslin and Summer Smail; and sisters, Patricia Joyce (David) Roll of Kingston and Judy Ann Joslin of Chillicothe.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his best friend, “Willie”his beagle.

The family will receive friends from Noon until the time of a funeral service at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon with Roger Tickle officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
