Howard E. Caldwell, 70, of Delaware passed away early Wednesday morning August 29, in the comfort of his home after an extended illness. Howard was born March 23, 1937, in Pound, Virginia to the late James and Goldia Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Sharon Painter, great granddaughter Ashton and brothers Thurman, Freddie, Ermal, Kestern and sister Lilli Mae.

Howard will be sadly missed by his loving wife Faith Ann (Maraldo) of 36 years; children Debroah (Theadore) Hickman of Corbin, KY, Kathy Payne of Chillicothe, and John (Mary) Stuart of Delaware; grandchildren Anita and Shawn Hunt, Jordan, Ashton, Lincoln, and Makiah Payne, Shirrah Painter, Tiffany, Whitney and Morgan Stuart; nine great grandchildren; many friends; brothers Bud (Virginia) Harrison (Sandy) of Delaware, Carl (Wilma) of Cardington; sisters Rosie Mullins and Marie Breece of Delaware.

Howard was a Drywall and Building Contractor, worked at Ranco of Delaware, and was a Realtor with Price Realty and Century 21. He was a former member of Moose, Eagles, Lions, and a current member of Amvets Post 102. His hobbies consisted of Fishing, Bowling, Gambling Trips and was an avid sports fan. Howard enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 PM today (Thursday August 30th ) at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Bennett Brown Chapel, 1510 W. William St., Delaware. Additional calling hours will be held on Friday August 31st from 11:00 am until time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
