Howard A. “Frosty” Frost, age 87, of Mt. Vernon, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the Country Club Retirement Center after an extended illness.
He was employed at PPG and later retired from the State Highway Department in 1981. He was previously a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #2555 and the Eagles Lodges, and loved to play music for special social events.
Howard was born February 26, 1916, in Knox County to Calvin and Carrie (Pruner) Frost. He is survived by a son Larry A. (Pat) Frost of Mt. Vernon, a daughter Barbara E. (Ozro Jackson) Lewis of Mt. Vernon, a sister Ruth E. Powell of Newark, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, two step great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Donna Jean (Bowden) Frost; an infant son, Randy Duane Frost; a brother Robert E. Frost Sr., and a sister Emily Everhart.
Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at the Funeral Home beginning at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
