Honor Mary “Rose” Pankuch

Honor Mary “Rose” Pankuch, age 65, of Centerburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 13, 1949 in Fayetteville, North Carolina the daughter of Brooks and Honor Mary Rose (Davis) Peele Sr. Rose retired from AVI Food Systems at American Showa in Sunbury.
Rose was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon and avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. She enjoyed traveling on long trips or just the simple drive to Scioto Downs or Hollywood, as long as she was with family and friends, Rose was content with either. Rose’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. She was even known as the “traveling kitchen” during summer sporting tournaments, providing food for her grandchildren and their teammates.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Pankuch of Centerburg, Nadine (Bill) Carmickle of Sunbury, and Michael (Shanell) Pankuch of Utica, eight grandchildren, William and Tori Carmickle, Mikaela and Mackenzie Pankuch, Koltin, Brooklyn and Chase Pankuch and Nic Beeman, three brothers, Boyce Brooks (Barbara) Peele of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Felix (Peggy) Peele of Federalsburg, Maryland and Leonard Charles (Robin) Peele of Federalsburg, Maryland, four sisters, Debbie Denise Clarke of Fort Myers, Florida, Ruth Ellen Frye of Baltimore, Maryland, Lucille (Jerry) Maynor of Englewood, Tennessee and Florence Ester (Mark) Loop of Dallas, Texas.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Pankuch and three sisters, Sandra Ann Dixon, Spring Thorpe and Auburn Lilly Hopkins.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a funeral service will be held on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Roger Crego will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
