Mansfield: Hollie Edgar DeLong, 64, of Wood Street Mansfield, died Sunday March 31, 2002, in Morrow County Hospital, following a long illness.

He was born November 26, 1937 in Martin County, Kentucky to Bradley and Mary (Crisp) DeLong, and had lived in the Mansfield area over fifty years.

Mr. DeLong worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation, retiring in 1985.

Hollie loved working with horses, walking in the woods hunting mushrooms, groundhog hunting and fishing Lake Erie for perch and walleye. Hollie’s grandchildren were the love of his life.

He is survived by his mother Mary Crisp DeLong of Martin County, KY; his ex-wife Alberta Delong; two sons and daughters-in-law Glenn and Susie DeLong of Bellville and Edgar and Deb DeLong of Myrtle Beach, SC; four step-children and their spouses Terry and LaDonna Murphy of Atlanta, GA, Garry and Mary Kay Murphy of Galion, Vicki and Jerry Brubaker of Mt. Gilead, and Judi Murphy of Lexington; twelve grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a brother Kenneth Oliver DeLong of Rockford, IL; and three sisters, Irene Hunter and Juanita Russell both of Mansfield and Ella Mae McKitrick of Delaware.

In addition to his father, a brother Elmer DeLong preceded Hollie in death.

Friends may call Wednesday April 3, 2002, from 4-7 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am with The Rev. Paul Crisp officiating. Burial will follow in Bellville cemetery.
