Hobert R. Williams, age 91, of Mount Gilead passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on October 27, 1923 in Morrow County, son of the late E. Houston and Maggie (Gadd) Williams.

Hobert was a retired assembler for J. B. Foote Transmission Company in Fredericktown. He enjoyed refinishing furniture and collecting antiques. Hobert honorable served his country in the Army during WWII in the European Theatre.

Hobert is survived by his son, Donald Williams of Canton; grandchildren, Nick (Natalie) Williams,Ben (Emily) Williams, and Gregory Williams; great grandchildren, Gavin, Selah, and Nola; sister, Mary Kathryn Leman of Frost Proof, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Hobert was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Morrison) Williams; son, David Williams; sisters, Violet McDonald, Velma Simmons and Vivian Myers; and brother Herman Williams.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 East College St., Fredericktown where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 with Mr. Donald Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chesterville with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
