LEXINGTON; Hildegard Wagner, 83, formerly of Mohican Trail, Lexington, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 just two days shy of her 84th birthday, in Union Hospital, Dover following a long illness.
She was born January 1, 1924 in Kirch Goens, Germany to Ferdinand and Anna (Kramer) Gerhard.
On July 22, 1946 she married William Wagner who preceded her in death on November 26, 2005.
Hilde moved to Lexington with her husband in December of 1959 from Elyria, and from Lexington to Uhrichsville in 1999.
Hildegard worked eleven years for the former Stevens Manufacturing, but retired from Hi-Stat Manufacturing in 1987 after 10 years of service as a disc maker.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Lexington, and attended First Moravian Church of Uhrichsville. She was a former member of the Mansfield Liederkranz.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Hal and Randa Wagner of Crestline, and Robert and Jill Wagner of Uhrichsville; four grandchildren Steven and Sharon Wagner of Delta, Mary-Jo and Robert Pittenger of Mansfield, Sarah and Lee Ledford and Lauren Wagner all of Uhrichsville, six great grandchildren Stephanie and Robert, Jr. Pittenger, Megan, Matthew and John Wagner and Tori Ledford; a great great grand son Nikkyan Pittenger; two brothers Willi Gerhard of Frankfurt, Germany and Otto Gerhard of Pohl Goens, Germany; and a sister Anna Misch of Kirch Goens, Germany.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three sisters Katherine Kolmare and Maria Linke, and Elsa Guth.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 5, 2008 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm. The Rev. Marilou Brook will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions to Christ Lutheran Church may be made at the funeral home.
