Hessie Irene Dailey, Ames Street, Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Harriston, Virginia to the late William King and Cora (Harris) Via. She is a member of the family of God.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Dailey, three sons, Rick (Kerri) Hines of Cincinnati, Darty (Michele) Hines of Millersburg, Pennsylvania, Keith (Melissa) Hines of Cincinnati, eight grandchildren, a sister, and a brother both of Virginia. Also surviving is a step-son, Eric Dailey, brothers-in-law, Fred (Rita) Dailey, Doug (Sandy) Dailey and sister-in-law, Barbara (Bill) Lowe all of Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Wanda Dailey.

Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service and burial for Mrs. Dailey will be held in Grottoes, Virginia. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon assisted the family with arrangements.

  • My sincere sympathy to Hessie’s husband, her sons, and her family in VA. She has been a childhood friend of mine for many years. We went to school together, ( elementary & high school), rode the bus together and were inseparable until we married and went in different directions. I loved her and she will be forever in my heart!
