Herma Marie Richardson Mitchell, age 87 of Sunbury died Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at Delaware Court Health Care Facility.

She was born on Jan. 10, 1914 in Columbus to the late Charles & Mary (Jordan) Hinkle. Area resident since 1945. Herma worked in the filling line for Nestles and as a factory worker for North American Rockwell and Timken Co. She attended Rural Chapel United Methodist Church. She liked to knit and crochet. Her family was a very important part of her life.

Survived by: Sons: Orville M. (Joan) Richardson of Greensborough, NC., Ron (Pam) Richardson of Sunbury, Daughters: Mary Alice (Maury) Drum of New Hope, PA, Herma Compton-Hickman of Delaware. Daughter-in-law: Helen Richardson of Pleasant Garden, NC. 12 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Sisters: Esther Webb of Mechanicsburg, Ruth Sessler of Columbus.

Preceded in death by husbands: Ralph W. Mitchell in 1975 and Jesse M. Richardson in 1951, Sons: Jesse Jr. in 1938 and Charley B. Richardson. Granddaughters: Tammy & Rachel Richardson and Melanie Compton.

3 Brothers: Floyd, Charlie, Paul. 2 Sisters: Alice Jenkins and Elma Esty.

Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury and one hour prior to the services Saturday 11 a.m. at Rural Chapel United Methodist Church, 5860 Cheshire Road, Galena with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Interment Sunbury Memorial Park.
